| Work Duds opened in Richmond, Virginia in October 1987 with the purpose of providing high quality merchandise with superior service at fair prices. Our goal was to create a store with a relaxed atmosphere to service working people who need rugged apparel that provides comfort and safety in extreme environments. Customer suggestions resulted in the addition of women's safety footwear, hunting clothes, casual wear, and other specialty items.
Over the next 12 years, we added a Mobile trailer to go on-site to companies that require employees to wear safety toe footwear. This allows employees to shop on company property or to take specialty clothing like hunting apparel to hunting club events.
In 1996 we moved to a larger location at the Laburnum Green Shopping Center across from Bill Talley Ford.
